The pot mechanism is identical across all variants, a 10K ohm resistive element, stepless rotation, 0-10V output for EC fan or VSD speed control. The variant you order determines how it physically installs on site. Get it wrong and you’re reworking the mounting; get it right and it takes five minutes.
Here’s how to choose.
HPM adaptor
The HPM adaptor variant is built to clip into a standard HPM Excel wall plate, the most common switch and socket plate format on Australian residential and commercial sites. If the installation already has HPM plates, or if you’re spec’ing speed control alongside switches in the same plate, this is the right choice. No drilling, no custom cutting.
Panel adaptor
Nut, washer and knob, nothing else. Drill a hole in an MDF board, a wiring tray face, a custom enclosure lid, or a thin panel, push the pot through from the front and tighten the nut from behind. The most flexible mounting option and the lowest cost. Suits any surface you can drill a hole in where a wall box isn’t available or practical.
Bulkhead enclosure
The pot comes pre-mounted inside a black surface-mount enclosure with a knob on the front. Four screw holes on the rear face for direct mounting to a wall, duct, pipe bracket, or any flat surface. No wall box needed, no plate required. The enclosure protects the pot and wiring terminations.
This is the right choice for plant rooms, rooftops, riser cupboards, or any location where the installation is functional rather than finished. Somewhere a flush wall box isn’t going in.
